GARDENS IN SU-ČOU BY LENS OF STANISLAV VAŇEK

Suzhou is a ten-millions Chinese city at the bottom of the Jang-c'-tiang River. It is famous for its ancient gardens, stone bridges and pagodas. Already during the Sung Dynasty (960-1279), it was an important producer of silk, which continues to this day.

The garden on the Tiger Hill (Chu-chi) surrounds the oblique pagoda Jün-jen from 961 and the garden has a large collection of bonsai. The Garden Master of Fishing Networks (Wang-shuyuan) was founded in the 1180's Sung dynasty.
Garden The Cang-lang tching is the oldest garden in Suzhou. The Garden of Time (Lou Yuan) dates from 1525, was restored in 1953.
